CryptoPunk Sells for 90 ETH, Money Goes to Ukraine

CryptoPunk #5364 sold for 90 ETH, worth over $100,000 - and all of the proceeds are going to Ukraine. Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Alex Bornyakov tweeted about the sale, lauding the cryptocommunity for helping.

In a Nutshell:

• CryptoPunk #5364 first sold a few months ago, and was donated to the Aid For Ukraine fund.
• The funds will be sent to UNICEF which runs an effort to help children displaced by the war.
• Ukraine has raised over $135 million in crypto since the Russian invasion began.

What it Means:

• NFTs and crypto are yet again proving to be a force for good. The industry has long been touted as a haven for illicit activity, but more often than not people band together to aid a good cause.
